It's to get the correct tuned length of the exhaust pipe for the exhaust pulses. Get it wrong and the bike doesn't make as much power. The length x the diameter of the tube is crucial. G
Thanks Gary, you're right of course but the design treatment of this pipe (black plastic with hesitant shape...) is not really convincing compare to the perfection of the rest!
Perfect and logical. Get the weight as low as possible.
